The last time I went to Edinburgh Zoo was about 4 years ago, when 'Penguin Rock' and many other enclosures were having a bit of a revamp, including the new visitor centre which is pretty darn nice now. On my recent visit, I was so excited to see the penguins that we bypassed the rest of the zoo upon arrival and headed straight for what I consider to be the main attraction. We were just in time for their afternoon feeding.
Close by to the fence, I made friends with an odd little penguin. I'm not sure if you could call him (or her?) an albino, as he didn't have red eyes, but he was a light grey colour and different from all of the other penguins (trust me to find the odd one out!). If any one knows the name of this handsome little penguin, then let me know!
Edinburgh Zoo seems to be making improvements to the whole Zoo experience, and visitors are reminded throughout that they can sponsor the animals to help with their upkeep. From £40 you can adopt a penguin (or other animal at the zoo), and receive some exclusive benefits for doing so.
