This woman is my hero. I love everything about her novels and her legacy and from what I've read about her she had a quick wit and a sharp tongue- the perfect guest for a lively dinner table discussion.
HERCULE POIROT/ DAVID SUCHET
For those of you who don't know who Poirot is (shame on you!)- he is a ficitional detective created by Agatha Christie. I think if he ever came to dinner, I would be beside myself with excitement. I recently read David Suchet's (the actor who plays Poirot) book about his career playing Poirot and decided that he is just as interesting as the great Poirot himself- if I could have them both to dinner at the same time, that would be great (totally impossible but this is a fictional dinner party so work with me ok?)
This woman is just beautiful. I first came across Joanna Lumley when she played Patsy in the tv show Absolutely Fabulous and I thought she was brilliant. Since then I've watched her many travel documentaries and I think that she would make a fascinating dinner guest. I think I would be so nervous to meet her that I'd probably curtsey like a loony meeting the Queen.
God this man is charming. Not only is he a fantastic actor (I love his films Down With Love, Miss Potter and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen), but this guy just oozes charm. I saw him speak at the Edinburgh International Film Festival earlier this year, and I have no doubt that the lovely Ewan McGregor would be the life and soul of any good dinner party.
This guy is a food god and well, if I was holding a dinner party for such distinguished guests I would need more than just a little bit of help in the cooking department. Seems like a nice chap too.
eerrr becuase it's Prince Harry....he doesn't need any explanation, am I right ladies?
SHE'S JUST SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Such a brilliant author and what an imagination! Terry Pratchett is the author and creator of the Discworld series which I currently can't get enough of! If you haven't picked up one of his books- do it! NOW!
DAME MAGGIE SMITH
She is one of my favourite actresses and I bet she's got some wonderful stories to tell!
THE HONOURABLE MISS PHRYNE FISHER
Possibly the most kick ass amazing female sleuth I've ever come across, Miss Phryne Fisher is my idol on so many levels. She features in 20 books written by Kerry Greenwood and has her own TV show in Australia. She's just awesome- google her and thank me later.
Who would be on your fantasy Christmas dinner party list?
