So it’s a bit hard to judge how this one is going, but I feel I have made baby steps towards making this more of a reality. I’ve made the extra effort to be involved and offer some ideas and opinions when usually I would have stayed quiet. Sometimes the reaction was good, sometimes not so good, but I’m definitely getting there!
There is nothing better than a good book, and I’ve read some great books this year! So far my top three are The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton, The Dead Assassin by Vaughn Entwistle and Hausfrau by Jill Alexander Essbaum. I’ve got a reading list as long as my arm lined up for the rest of the year, so stay tuned for a blog post about that!
DO THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY
I was in a bit of a rut at the start of the year, and just wasn’t quite totally happy. To put my New Year’s Resolution into practice, I took a 3 week trip home to Australia to see my family, which made me super happy and also encouraged my next ‘Happy’ moment when I resigned from my job to pursue a career that I was passionate about. I’m following the mantra of my new role model Lorna Jane, who says that doing things that make you happy should become a daily ritual. I’ve taken her advice from her book ‘More’- full book review coming soon!
I’ve definitely put this one in motion! Since the start of the year, I’ve travelled to Singapore, Australia, London, Faroe Islands, Barcelona and Bavaria! Phew! It’s reignited my passion for travel, and I’m already thinking of some more places I want to visit by the end of the year (Amsterdam is currently top of the list!)
So all in all, I think I’m doing okay with my resolutions for once in my life! How are you doing with yours? Leave a comment below to let me know what New Year’s Resolution you’ve achieved or forgotten about!
