One Square knows how to create an ambiance for their diners. Even though we went on a busy Friday night, we hardly noticed the other diners and had the full attention of the waitress whenever we needed it. We had opted out of starters (experience had taught me that 2 courses would be more than enough to fill me up), and headed straight for main courses. My boyfriend had steak with a side of mashed potato and onion rings, and I opted for a half Orkney lobster with warm potato salad. We were given bread to nibble on while we waited for our mains (they even do bread well here) which came out promptly considering how busy the restaurant was.
I couldn't fault anything about the service or the food at One Square. It's the sort of place where I wish I could eat every week, but only manage to go to for special occasions. My boyfriend was suitably impressed and I think I earned myself a few brownie points along the way.
