Feel the Magic
The Edinburgh International Magic Festival kicks off on the 26th of June at Summerhall. The 8 day festival features over 100 shows and events, plus bars, doughnuts (courtesy of Krispy Kreme), exhibitions and a magic shop. The event is the only festival in the UK that celebrates magic as an art form and aims to enrich, entertain, inspire and challenge both adults and children to get involved in magic.
Build a raft
Who doesn’t love an opportunity to watch a bunch of people to attempt to race up a canal in rafts they’ve built themselves? Edinburgh Quay and Union Canal are playing host to the 2015 Canal Festival and Raft Race, which will see 24 teams go head to head in vessels made out of everyday objects. If you’re not one for the water yourself, then you can enjoy the many land based activities such as market stalls, music and street food.
Back for another year, The Fit Festival is taking place at the Assembly Rooms on the 27th and 28th of June. Jam-packed with health and fitness exhibitors including Lorna Jane (Aussie fitness wear brand that I LOVE!), Physio Plus, Vivimoss, Nuffield Health and Cavefit, the events also features masterclasses and demonstrations. It’s one of the most exciting fitness event to happen in Edinburgh all year.
The Lululemon team are gearing up for their new George Street store opening with a MASSIVE party on Friday the 26th of June. Hosted at the National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street, doors open at 7pm. A yoga class with Demelza Feltham starts at 8pm, followed by fizz and food until 11pm. Tickets are free and you can get them in advance online.
Cuddle some cats
Sometimes you just need to be around some cute cats. Maison de Moggy, Scotland's first cat cafe has recently opened their new cafe in the Grassmarket. I've given them a few weeks to settle in to their new home and now I'm ready to see what all the fuss is about for myself. Visit them at 17 West Port, EH1 2JA.
