This week, The Rock Trust launched their postcard exhibition at Summerhall. The exhibition runs from 4th of June to the 2nd of July and coincides with an auction to raise money and awareness for youth homelessness in Edinburgh and the Lothians. The exhibition is made up of 170 pieces of art donated by local, national and international artists- and you can go along and bid for your favourite piece with all proceeds raised going towards helping Edinburgh most vulnerable youths.
Good news fellow Edinburghers! it's baby season at Edinburgh Zoo at the moment! I went last weekend and gushed over the ADORABLE baby penguins in their little huts that look set for a beach resort. They were cute beyond words and you have to go and see them while they are still at their fluffiest.
Newly opened in Morningside, The Nail Yard specialises in looking after your hands and feet by using natural products that don't damage your nails. This Thursday they are hosting Margaret Dabbs- founder of an award winning international hand and foot care brand. Offers and discounts will be available on the night and you have to RSVP to email@example.com. My fellow blogger Ema from Is It Vintage recently road tested the new salon- you can see her review here.
The Edinburgh International Film Festival has teamed up again with This Is Edinburgh and Essential Edinburgh to offer outdoor screenings in St Andrews Square. Film in the City runs in the square from Friday 12th to Sunday the 14th of June and features showings of films such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Life of Pi and Batman. Make sure you visit the Etihad Airways tent when you're there for your chance to win a holiday to Abu Dhabi.
Fans of fitness clothing will know about this beautiful little showroom on Castle Street. On Saturday the 13th of June they will be closing their showroom- but fear not, they are moving to an even bigger and better store on George Street which is set to open in the next few months. At 12noon they are holding a goal setting workshop, which is a great opportunity to meet some positive people (for the record the girls at Lululemon are awesome) and be inspired to get out there and make things happen. See their Facebook page for more details.
